We need to put a stop to this before we all start sounding like Beth Mowins.

Ava needed to get in and throw a little in the regional environment. She only thew those 2 innings against UGA last week.

The important thing is she got a rare opportunity and she was clutch. This team has some amazing vibes.

That’s the exact kind of pitcher we seem to struggle with almost every first NCAA game. Off speed with movement, we are used to going against flame throwers. And then a lot of hard hit balls right at people. They did a good job of staying the course until the hits finally fell late.

South Alabama just beat FAU 1-0 when the tying run was thrown out at the plate by SA's right fielder with 2 outs in the top of the 7th, runners on 1st and 2nd and a single to RF. Jaguars scored the only run of the game on a 1 out RBI double in the bottom of the 6th. South Alabama workhorse Olivia Lackey got the complete game win. She is now 24-8, 1.34 ERA. Gators will have their work cut out for them, as she is an excellent pitcher.

Not that it is overly relevant in softball but how many pitches did she throw?

FAU base runner made it way to easy for the tag at home plate. Came straight in and upright. If she would have come in wide right with a reach in to her left (like Falby does so well) she might have tied the game.
