Don't think it was a hit and run since the hitter didn't swing.

If you don't think being the home team in a tournament game is important, I'd point to this game. After a smidge of first inning jitters, the Gators never seemed rattled. Knowing that, as long as the game was scoreless, they'd have the bats last. Seems obvious, I know. But, a great position to be in.

    Go Gators!

I'm pretty sure her name is Mac Morgan. She's a Jr. RHP, 15-1, 98.2 IP, 1.99 ERA, 22 BB, 38 K's. She only averages about 4 innings per outing, as she, Havan and Citally Gutierrez have split most of the staff's quality time in the circle. Texas has really good pitching, but nobody as good as Kilfoyl for sure. But their offense is better than Oklahoma State and we're going to have to get ours going to beat them.

Thanks for the correction on Mac Morgan. I was going off memory rather than looking her up. She is the pitcher on the UTex staff who is Kilfoyl Lite. The other two pitchers have good stuff too, but a pitcher like Morgan will give us more trouble.

Oklahoma State has a good hitting team and one of the top homerun teams in the nation, but I agree the shorthorn offense is better. I think the shorthorns have better speed too so our defense will have to be at its best. No way 1-0 wins this game.

It almost looked like she was bunting....which would also make sense, have the 3b back to the bag and if you get it down to that side its a hit

Kudos to Avery. That was a really good over the back catch in the sixth in foul territory. Greatest Gator victory since Jordan Mathews hit a homerun against A&M in 2018 to get to the WCWS.

I just realized why I said Mac Jones, a name we all know better. Jones was the QB at bama when UF had Kyle Trask. Both have been in the NFL.

Again, thanks for the correction, I just knew Mac was right and the last name Jones immediately came to mind.

Such a *team* this year -- someone always steps up. As Brooks reported, "The top five batters in the UF order -- the All-Southeastern Conference quintet of Falby, Korbe Otis, Skylar Wallace, Jocelyn Erickson and Reagan Walsh -- combined to go 1-for-11 in the game. Kistler came to the rescue."

She pulled back the bunt, so it wasn't a bunt and run. I suppose it could have been a fake but to get the third baseman to charge in order to leave third base uncovered. But it was a called strike on the pitch. So she didn't make an attempt at the bunt, she pulled the bat back.

Timely hits from the bottom half of the lineup has really saved us in the last two games.

Time for the top half to return to form and bring us to the championship game.

That is what she said in the postgame interview. Good to not let poor batting affect her defense.
