(SB) Game 1 Thread - WCWS Game 1 - Florida vs. Oklahoma State

• Thank you that is some great info....Do you have that information for Nebraska?...That is who Florida plays in game one on Friday.

I hope KR is redted and ready. As far as matchups, the only better one IMO would have been to get Bama.

I didn’t watch it, but in the earlier meeting between these two teams, the Cowgirls blanked the Gators 3-0.

All of OSU’s runs came off of one home run, as Rothrock held the Cowgirls to only 2 hits on the day. Meanwhile the Gators produced just 3 hits against Kilfoyl. Should be a tough game.

 

We were definitely still figuring out who we were when we played them the first time. We are a different team right now. I don't follow OSU and don't know how much they've improved over the season. Kilfoyl is always going to be a tough out. I don't think we get blanked again though.

 

1.06 ERA is nothing to sneeze at. Hoping we slam her.

I think it's going to be a real good game. We've done good the 2nd time we've seen an arm this season and they haven't seen brown either so I think we can get it.

 

I figured we'll be starting Keagan every game from here on out. Have you seen something to the contrary?

I'm sure KR will start....but the strong outing Ava had vs Baylor likely makes the staff more comfortable going to her sooner if KR hits a rough stretch. I wouldn't be surprised to see a game where they go to Ava for a stretch then back to KR

 

She is very good! OSU win series against Texas and OU but got swept by Iowa State. And they lost pretty bad in Big 12 tourney to BYU I think. So some headscracthers for sure. I think defense can be their biggest issue so we need to put pressure on them.

 

This is going to be a tough one. OkState is probably the most balanced team that we’ve played all season.

If we can scratch across 2-3 runs against Kilfoyl, we should consider that a success.

That means Keagan is going to have to be near perfect. The key for her is to keep the ball in the park. Easier said than done.

 

Kilfoyl is on of the top 3 pitchers in the country and we only had 1 day to prep for her early in the year. It will be tough to score runs but having seen her before will definitely help. There are no easy wins from here on out but it's all gravy. Looking forward to the games. Go Gators!
