Unfortunately we have a ton of far lefties on this board so you won’t get many replies. It’s common sense but that seems to have left a lot of posters here years ago.

There have been 361 replies on this thread. I don’t think people are avoiding it.

I haven't posted in this thread in months. There really isn't any point in trying to discuss an issue when both sides, one more more so than the other, are absolutely convinced that their viewpoint is the only one that's valid.

    Bottom of a pint glass
Not only that. Most people on both sides are pretty much in agreement on the subject. It seems very few people think this is a good idea.

There was a Capitol Hill hearing on this today. Probably why this thread resurfaced.

Your article states that "The world governing body of cycling competitions, Union Cycliste Internationale, announced in July transgender competitors would be banned from women’s international cycling events." I note that to say it seems various bodies/sports are having to address the issue. They have an incentive to do so and presumably will become irrelevant if competitors and sponsors form competing leagues. I'm not sure how much the opinions of politicians do or should control to the extent we're talking about private organizations (as opposed to sports which fall under Title IX, for example).

I remember some on the left said this never happens. Sure seems to be happening a lot for "never happens"

Thank God the federal government is involved. I was concerned that state government resources might be insufficient to address the scope of this threat

This is one of those weird issues where people suggest that it's not a big deal because it never or rarely happens, but still provide resistance to what is otherwise a very logical idea. There is zero doubt in my mind that if conservatives didn't exist, most of those providing resistance would actually agree with what they seem to be resisting against. This is just political resistance out of habit.

Went back to look at post #29, what the poster actually said was that it's extremely rare not that it never happens. I recall reading a couple of months ago that after the Utah State Legislature enacted legislation banning the participation of transgender athletes from participating in high school sports there were somewhere around 60,000 high school students participating in athletics in that state. Out of the 60,000 fewer than 10 were transgender and even if the real number was closer to 100 it would still be minuscule. This is post #29 by the way.
    An article on the subject:
These States Had Few, If Any, Trans Student Athletes. They Passed Sports Bans Anyway.

By the way there have been instances of genetic girls being harassed because they were mistakenly identified as transgender. An example:
Grandparent shuts down school sport event falsely accusing girl of being trans

    Very true.

If you immediately oppose any issue that conservatives favor because you immediately perceive that it is illogical and immoral without looking further, you are going to be wrong about 1% of the time.

Some might say that 1% is insignificant, but it is 1000x more common statistically than trans women having an advantage in sports

As Va pointed out, both your examples are posters saying it happens, but it's very rare. That's not the same thing as never, is it?

LOL. Of course it happens. "Never happens" seems to be happening a lot more these days. And your other portion of the post is off topic.
