No. They can’t be sold in stores or used by restaurants, but there’s no law against bringing them in.
They sure do although Publix has plastic straws in the deli. I always get some extras as the paper straws are no good. It is either Gainesville or Alachua County but get a drink at McDonalds or Chick- fil- A type place and you get paper straws and a plastic cup.
Quite a few placed have upgraded to the eco friendly plastic straws. Paper straws suck ass. I keep a box of og’s in all our cars.
What is so funny about paper straws is that its all there was when I was a little kid. I think I was introduced to the first plastic straw at McD's when I was around 8. So, I thought, oh no big deal that its paper, right? Wrong, those paper straws are so dang nasty....you can't even finish your Big Gulp without it turning to mush.
Half the places here in Maryland still do plastic straws. But Chick-fil-A no longer does styrofoam cups and they don’t sell styrofoam plates in stores. But we do get to pay 5 cents for a plastic bag at the stores…stupid tree huggers
We call Gainesville mini California. Of course they have the highest taxes and and managed to bankrupt the city owned GRU. Lots of rules and regulations and homeless people at every intersection.
