Gainesville Food Options

Trade off I guess is they now take debit cards and are not cash only. A newer burger place in Gainesville that has a good burger is Dick Mondell's on SW 4th Ave. It is worth a try for sure.

 

I always have at least one bag of dick's in GNV.

i have had dicks and I agree it’s good. Even harder to get in and out of than mac’s though! I also like the Detroit style pizza across the street at satchel’s second location. Satch squared

 

Satchell's sold it off it's now called SquareHouse Pizza.

 

Ah, I haven’t been in a long time. Did the guy from satchel’s that got it up and running buy it, or they sell it to someone new take over? It was a long time satchel’s employee that started it, right?

I don’t get in that area very often.

I wouldn’t feed Sonny’s to my dog, so I will definitely will not miss that if I ever decide to commit sacrilege and move out of the state of Florida. My girl eats it but is she’s paying and brings it home…

What’s the pizza place south of Gainesville on the way to Ocala. I think it’s Blue Hwy Pizza.

 

Does anybody remember Bluewater Bay out in the Lake Santa Fe direction? It was a cool place to take a date

 

Still open. We didn’t go there a lot, we usually went to Buddy’s on the lake. My Dad uses the owner at BWB for catering a lot of their private events.

 

Mad Monks and Rickey’s Raw bar. Miss them too. Especially when Rickey’s wa at the UF golf club

 

Luke's Bagels are great, too. The poor service is a testament to how good their food is; people keep coming back, and it isn't for the service. They are notoriously slow and inefficient, but they make good bagels.
