You can either look at this as an anomaly, or a sign of things to come. If the latter, we (along with other programs) may eventually be on the receiving end of such events in the future. Sucks if the case.
So I'm confused. I thought NIL was supposed to make the rich get richer, not level the playing field.
Is that really leveling the playing field though, or did a small school blow their entire wad to make a splash that won't truly amount to much for them. Is 1 high profile player going to get them to the playoffs?
Here’s my question on NIL deals. The kid that skipped his SR year in HS and signed with OSU in the fall for $1 million nil, and is now transferring, did he keep all that money? Or is it spread out over a 2-3 year period? Each year you’re with the team you get a pay out? Like someone said earlier, it’s only a matter of time before these NIL deals go bust, and folks stop pouring money into them.
Based on whats happening I have no choice but to assume FSu has hired Dan Mullen as recruiting coordinator. Rumor is 7 years/ 80 bucks.
