Friday night smackdown

Why is this a smackdown? This is the equivalent of an ex employer telling you that they just deactivated accounts that you don't even use

 

I was wondering the same thing. I always assumed if they were no longer in office that it was automatically revoked. Learn something new every day.

 

Agree. Especially being out of office that long.

Former officials almost always maintain clearance. Having security clearance is basically a marketable skill for certain professionals that require clearance. If a person is already cleared that makes them more instantly hireable than someone that would need to start from square 1 with a background check. Probably comes most into play at high powered law firms, defense contractors, and security types who need to deal with classified or secret info in the private sector.

I’d say retired politicians have less practical reason to maintain it. It’s more of a matter historical tradition methinks. Still, given the list this is obviously a petty and partisan move designed to delight the rubes.

 

From the mind of a petty wannabe dictator with both the maturity and the mentality of a 12 year old.... I expected no less.

 

I don’t understand why he waited this long to yank their clearances.

 

Nobody holds grievances and is obsessed with retribution like the former reality television star with a penchant for orange makeup.
