This must be the first time he acknowledge he is the former President, indicating he lost in 2020.

I well remember the wounded indignation, of Democrats, when Republicans were agitating to send her to jail. Some pleaded that because she lost (she was out of office) that she should be left in peace.

Sadly, history tells us this is true with his MAGA followers.

I think “most” non- MAGA Americans see this as one of a sundry of crimes that he committed, and part of a pattern of systemic concealment, lies and criminal actions designed to meet his self-entitlement snd maniacal ego.

Speaking only for me, I don’t know yet which if the crimes he’s actually getting charged with, given how many there appear to be. I can also safely say that I am not giddy over a former President being criminally charged for things such as paying hush money to a porn star/escort out of his campaign funds, or taking hundreds of thousands of dollars of illegal gifts, etc.

I think the era of Trump is a sad blight on our Country and I think history will agree me.

He has skills. He is an idea man who can manage and inspire engineers. His work on Tesla and spacex is excellent. Why anyone listens to anything he says unrelated to these things confuses me.

If they don’t show, will that mean that Trump’s crazed influence has finally faded?

Russia is looking less and less like a valuable ally to China.

Is there truly a single Republican that doesn’t cringe when she speaks?

In fairness, we really don’t know. There’s a ton of rumors out there, but we don’t know.

So if the charges are meritorious, do you think Trump should not be charged?

I never considered this JWs don’t knock on the door to convert new people, they do it to cement their wisdom and superiority over non cultists. The same thing could be happening with Trumpsters.

Maybe although the reality is that if he is indicted (still do not believe it is a certainty) Trump will turn himself in accompanied by his attorneys and after processing (finger printed and photographed) will be released almost immediately on his own recognizance given that there is virtually no possibility that he will attempt to flea.

How many millions of taxpayer dollars were spent investigating HRC where they found nothing? Now HRC is going to be laughing as they frog march Trump off to jail.

That's not quite correct. Under these circumstances, New York law (Article S210.10 3) requires that the indictment be sealed until the defendant appears for arraignment and the court must issue an arrest warrant unless the district attorney requests that only a summons (somewhat similar to a notice to appear) be issued.

If the DA requests a summons, Trump can appear voluntarily at his arraignment. If the DA doesn't affirmatively request a summons, an arrest warrant will be issued. One would expect Trump would be afforded the opportunity to turn himself into a law enforcement agency to have the warrant executed, but that is an arrest. This part is all up to the DA.

If he's actually ends up being guilty then he should be charged accordingly.
I disagree a blight on our country, he was exactly what we needed and I think he'll go down as one of being better than the last several we had.

    Falsification of business records.[/QUOTE]
Since someone had the temerity to gainsay me here are two sources. One is right wing the other left.

Ex-US President Donald Trump expects to be arrested on Tuesday

The Stormy Daniels case is about how Mr Trump reimbursed his lawyer Michael Cohen after Cohen paid Ms Daniels $130,000. The record for the payment reimbursing Cohen says the payment was for "legal fees". Prosecutors may say this amounts to Mr Trump falsifying business records, a misdemeanour in New York.

Progressive Democrat Bragg’s Motivation in Nakedly Political Indictment of Trump | National Review

Here, the case of falsifying business records against Trump ... is, at best, a nonviolent misdemeanor that is stale and that could be inflated into a felony only by theories that are legally and factually dubious.

How will we know if he’s guilty if he not charged and tried first?
