It’s not impossible that Trump said get it done and purposely avoided knowing the details, lots of rich guys do that It’s called deniability. My boss has no clue about what his accountant does, he has no clue about details of tax law, many business owners don’t. That’s why they hire people to do their books. Not saying that’s the case and we will all find out if a trial takes place.
Evidently payments aren’t illegal unless the money came from campaign money, or if he tried to write it off as a business expense. Interesting question if you get sued can you right off your legal fees for defense? If so is it much of a stretch to pay off a hooker as to not let it effect your “brand”?
Not sure how much of the party will rally around Trump, for most fair minded people he’s been done since Jan 6. Most I know just wish he would go away.
Im sure they exist but I've never known a cpa that would risk legal ramifications and censure by knowingly breaking the law to enrich his boss. Maybe if he was extremely well compensated.
