If this turns out to be true, all hell is going to break loose. I am still hoping that this is not true, I am not sure our country is in the mental state to deal with this.

I’m guessing there will be a sharp increase in domestic terrorism next week if this happens.

That’s why I’ve leaned against his indictment, particularly an arrest. Just the way it would further split the country.

It will probably help his poll numbers and won’t stop him from running. I don’t see any upside here.

Let’s assume that demonstrable proof has been gathered of illegal actions by Trump. This would lead us down one of three possible paths:
    1. Disclose the proof and indict him
    2. Disclose the proof but don’t indict him to avoid problems
    3. Conceal the proof
I certainly understand your concern regarding option 1, but I don’t much like the look of options 2 or 3 either.

Well if he finally gets convicted for one of the multitude of things people have been afraid to go after him for, that’s an upside.
Problem is, good luck finding a jury of 12 anywhere in this country thwart won’t have at least 1 MAGA zealot on it that stops him from being convicted.

Ha, OK. So, you undoubtedly realize this is the “negotiating with terrorists” idea?

Just do what we say, and don’t try to hold us accountable, and we won’t release the hounds!!!

MAGA will NEVER be satisfied, and they will never give an inch. It is that inconceivably narrow lifestyle enforced by ultimate top down state power or subjugation by that state power. There will never be a deviation from that idea.

I say let’s fill these streets tonight. The cards have been dealt, all the staring across the table as if both are winners is silly bluffing. Teddy KGB is all about the theater.

Trump World believes they outnumber the opposition, thus validating these ideas. And maybe they do. But let’s go ahead and stop guessing. Broken bottle fight tonight, in every neighborhood in the country. Tomorrow no more confusion!

Who’s with me?? (I’ll need a ride to and from the fight, and also need to borrow a bottle that I won’t be returning. Thanks in advance!)

Mentioned it in the thread on Trump's troubles, I think it's a mistake to indict the Donald for in effect using campaign funds to bribe Stormy Daniels. Although I think he's as guilty as hell the case is by no means a slam dunk. The closest analogy was the federal case against John Edwards for using campaign funds to pay his mistress and that didn't work out too well for the government with Edwards being acquitted. As I said in the other thread if Trump is charged, tried and acquitted it will be a great gift for the Donald.

Acquitted or not I think it’s a gift. He’s not going to jail regardless of guilt. He’ll play the victim card as always.

Isn't there a statute of limitations here? Wtf is the DA thinking here? Any lawyers want to chime in here? DJT hasnt been in NY since 2015. It certainly shouldn't fall into an arrest. As some have said, that would be very bad for the country. The best thing the Dems could do is ignore him and let the primaries play out.

How many crimes should Trump have free reign to commit? The funny thing is I have no idea which crime this would be for.

    Stormy Daniels hush money?
    Trump University Fraud?
    NY Charity Fraud?
    Trump Org Tax Evasion?

Having not followed the Manhattan DA activities closely, I’m guessing it’s most likely the 4th option listed, even though Weisselberg didn’t seem to flip on Trump, maybe they didn’t need his full cooperation. Guess we’ll have to see if/when indictments are filed, that’s the first real look at the case they’ve built.

That’s before we get into crimes in other jurisdictions, the disappeared inauguration money from 2017, the Ukraine extortion he was impeached for, his corrupt election asks *on tape* in Georgia, and the Jan 6 riot which is most definitely his doing.

At what point is enough, enough? Sounds like his strategy here is to call for more riots, more witness intimidation, etc. So… the defense strategy of the crime spree is for the crime spree to go on… or else!?
