I thought this was about Urban until I got to the five year part.

 

It’s crazy how much money floats around out there that people pay no attention to. A guy stole almost 200million from the company I worked for for almost 20 years. Was the owners’ right hand man. Had all kinds of backdoor schemes going on under their noses, and stole that much over a 3-4 year period. You’d think they’d know something was up when he showed up to meetings in a Phantom on a 250k salary, but they never caught on to it. When the feds raided our home office to pick him up, owners still had no idea.

 

Thanks for posting this, it never ceases to amaze me that organizations can let basic lapses in standard accounting practices leave themselves vulnerable to fraud. If anyone is interested there’s a decent documentary called “All the queens horses” that covers financial crimes committed against a small town.
