Juwan Taylor, who played linebacker for the Bulldogs from 2015 to 2018, testified in U.S. District Court in Athens that he kept the confession a secret for more than year, even when he was confronted by law enforcement about the crime. Taylor works as a player development assistant in the UGA athletic department, where he also assists with coaching linebackers.

Later that day, Crumpton showed him a news story on his cellphone about the slaying, according to Taylor. Again Crumpton admitted, “I didn’t mean to. I just needed the money,” Taylor testified.

A charming bunch they have up there in Athens. And Taylor currently is employed at UGA.

If I read correctly, after an ATF Agent and Detective Captain took the Georgia player to interview him, he said NOTHING (although he knew a lot) and his first call immediately thereafter was to the LegHumper FIXER?

"After the law enforcement officers left, Taylor said he called Bryant Gantt, UGA football’s director of player relations."

If so, that place is completely out-of-control, IMO.

And yet still beyond criticism from the sports media. There have been a couple of pieces but nothing gets traction.

Robbery with a gun is no longer considered a violent crime under federal law? And the max sentence for this killer is ONLY 30 years? Is that right?

That's federal law. I'm not sure I understand it either.

A Georgia State prosecution will be different.

Yeah, I thought even mentioning federal law in a state of Georgia case was weird.

I don't think they can bring a murder charge; not within their jurisdiction. So they charged what they could.
