There are no beans in chili. In Texas you can also get venison chili. Not to be confused with "venison chili" from the Tom Wolfe book "The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test".
Where are you seeing this? Ranger fans have been absolutely nuts over Wyatt in everything I have read.
He is still en fuego. Last 30 games he is hitting .327 with 24 rbi's. He is now batting 4th in the lineup. Hit HR number 5 last night with 2 rbi's.
Comments under Youtube highlights and on Twitter. They are not a majority at all, sorry if I implied it - but they are petulant and whiny every time the Rangers lose, and God help the player that fails to "deliver" to their nightly expectations.
Quietly, Bader is having a solid season with the Mets, averaging .273 so far. If he keeps this pace up, it will be his best batting average in the majors.
Pissed me off to see Skenes at the ASG, much less starting. I don't wish him ill but damn...I wish Wyatt or Jonathan could have been there before him.
Would have been nice, but I gotta admit he seems to be a decent kid. He has worked his butt off to get to this level and earned that start.
Don't be level-headed and rational with me, bucko. I agree RE seems like a good human. I just look at everything through a Gator lens.
MATT LAPORTA: A111 Lives in Tampa with wife and 4 kids. One of the greatest Gator baseball players of all time.
Starting at about the 9:30 mark Rangers vs White Sox yesterday. Bottom of the ninth Langford on 2nd, White Sox 3rd baseman plays way towards short so Wyatt trots over and steals 3rd. Then he scores the tying run. In the bottom of the 10th they walk the 2 batters in front of him and he drives in the winning run.
I hadn't noticed, but apparently Brandon Sproat is absolutely eviscerating the minor leagues this year -- 2.05 ERA, 110 strikeouts in 87 2/3 IP at A+ and AA.
Jacob young having a really good rookie season for the nationals. 39 stolen bases is a ton of steals for mlb in this day and age.
I went to see the local single A Yankees club, the Tampa Tarpons, on Tuesday night. They were playing the Daytona Torgugas (affiliate of the Reds). In the fourth inning or so, I looked at the scoreboard to notice that the Tortugas pitcher was named Michael Byrne. Looking at the guy, I thought, no way. But when he walked off after the inning, it was clear that it was him. He’s looking overweight now, and the Tarpons were hitting him well. He gave up 2 runs in the inning and didn’t return to the mound. Definitely not where I thought he’d be at this point.
Byrne missed three months (late April to late [edit: July]) with an injury. He played in AA last year and started in AAA this year.
Ugh...it was off an infielder, pitching in the bottom of the 8th inning Jac says he's not really going to count this one. Royals prospect Jac Caglianone hits first professional home run (mlb.com)
