The Polar Bear won his 2nd HR derby tonight. An incredible display at every level including a record first round of 35 HRs. Congrats Pete!!
Great article about Zunino being an All-Star: All-Star Zunino: 'It Started At Florida' - Florida Gators "One-hundred percent, we love Zunino,'' Rays relief pitcher Ryan Thompson said. "Every time Zunino hits one 9,000 feet, we're all so excited. When you have a catcher that good behind the dish, you don't really expect him to put up that much (offense). It would be great if he did. But if Zunino hit .180 with two jacks (homers) all year, you'd be like, 'Yeah, OK, he's still awesome.' The fact that he's hitting homers and putting runs on the board, it's extra special.''
"Just trying to soak up the moment because we dream about being here." @Ken_Rosenthal asked @RaysBaseball C Mike Zunino what it felt like rounding the bases at the @AllStarGame
This might have already been answered somewhere, but when was the last time two UF baseball players appeared in the same MLB all star game??
Does anyone know which players in MLB committed to UF, but turned pro before stepping on campus? I know Kyle Tucker for the Astros is one. But I was watching the Cubs v. Cardinals game earlier tonight, and they mentioned somebody on the broadcast whose name I didn't catch. I think they said he would've been a Gator teammate of Harrison Bader, but turned pro instead. Thanks.
I don’t follow recruiting that well so I can’t help here but Kyle Tucker is having a good year. He is hitting .270, 15 HR, 50 RBI
