I'm going to watch Kowar pitch this wednesday. He is the starting pitcher for NWA. You know who i'll be rooting for. Not the Travs
Daytona halts slide, bests Fort Myers, 6-1 Tortugas snap season-long-tying four-game losing streak in opener FORT MYERS, Fla. - Thanks to multi-RBI performances from DH José García and RF Shard Munroe , the Tortugas snapped a season-high-tying four-game losing streak, as Daytona topped the Fort Myers Miracle, 6-1, on Monday night at Hammond Stadium. After Daytona's (8-13, 43-43) first eight batters were retired to start the night, Munroe (1-2, R, 2 RBI, BB) reached base with a two-out walk in the third. 2B Jonathan India (1-4, R, BB) proceeded to single and swipe a bag, putting runners at second and third. García (2-4, 2B, 3 RBI, SO) followed by poking a single through the middle. Both runners scored - giving the 'Tugas a 2-0 advantage - while the 21-year-old was gunned out trying to stretch the hit into a double. Munroe leaves Miracle in shards, 2-1 Wednesday

Three former UF players made their Major League debut in the first half of 2019: Pete Alonso (New York Mets), Shaun Anderson (San Francisco Giants) and Richie Martin (Baltimore Orioles). Alonso has stolen the spotlight, not only among former Florida players, but in all of baseball. Last week, he became the first-ever UF player to win the MLB Home Run Derby. He has 30 home runs on the year, second-most in all of baseball and 11 shy of the Mets' franchise record. Martin was the Orioles starting shortstop on Opening Day and has played in 69 games. Anderson debuted on May 15 with the Giants and has a 4.23 ERA in 10 starts. Gators in the Pros Update - Florida Gators
I went to the Travs game last night and who to my surprise was the starting pitcher for Midland? PUK! I got his attention between innings and gave him a Gator Chomp. He then tipped his hat and waved at me. I wanted him to know he is not forgotten. He had 4 strike outs in 2 innings, then they replaced him. Guess he is still on rehab duty. He looked good though. Touched 98. Gator Made!
37— Good for you and good for AJ! As most all of our fans know, TJ—the surgery, the rehab/recovery, rebuilding to true game speed, rebuilding the confidence...it’s all a tough road but “Tip of the Cap” to all who have gone through it to continue to pursue their dreams!
Alonso has been slow out of the gate since the All-Star break but had a mammoth two run shot today. 474 feet
Watching Pete Alanso hit reminds me of the book Ball Four where they discussed how to pitch to Frank Robinson. The consensus was to pitch him underground.
