Men are National Champs! Only Tennessee is within 10 points of UF and they don't have a team in the 400 relay which is the final event. If we drop the baton and Texas wins we still win by 1 point. Texas is in 3rd 11 points behind UF.

I fully expect the women to win the title. It will be a fun plane ride back to Gainesville

It won't be easy. Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, LSU, Arkansas and Kentucky are all good.

Sorry I didn’t answer Distant Gator. I was out of pocket at my summer estate in Ft. White… well actually it’s a double wide on 4 acres and it has no internet and spotty cell service… I would however have said the men had a great performance on the 1st day, what they lacked in numbers they more than made up in quality.
I actually thought they were good for 53-55 points, but I can’t claim credit for that analysis… Track and Field news actually called a win for the Gators men team with Fahnbulleh and the relay teams leading the way. Their prediction was almost spot on.
Incidentally they predicted the Lady Gators would finish second to Texas in a extremely tight meet, however they did not factor Anna Hall in the 400 meter Hurdles, and they expected Texas to dominate the LJ.
We’ll see today, but I can tell you the Texas fans are no longer as cocky as they were before the meet… they expected to sweep both meets easily. I don’t know what it’s going to take for Coach Holloway to get the credit he deserves… he is simply the best Track and Field coach in the collegiate ranks, and one of the top outside college competition.

Men's sprinters crushed it! National Champs. Women need to finish strong. A lot on Anna's shoulders. Go Gators!

Had you predicted the men would win that would have been worthy!

Women's is not going to be easy. Jasmine just scratched on her 1st attempt in the triple. It is raining, but hopefully being from Florida we can handle it.

I also hope they don't put too much pressure in themselves with the men winning yesterday and them being one of the favorites.

If our 5000m runner (Valby) doesn't score (right now she's running in second), and Texas wins the 4X100 and we don't score, then there's a tie. But I think we've got this thing.

Update--Valby remains at the front halfway through.

2 events left and UF up by 10. If Parker Valby scores in the top 8 it is over before even going into the final event the 4 x400. Simply awesome performance by both the men and women track teams.

Valby 2nd. UF up by 18 with 1 event left. 1st ever UF NC in women's outdoor track! Get Mouse a huge raise.

We clinched it with a XC runner? Who'd have thought?

Anyway, I guess we're officially a track school now. Nice job by both teams!

Valby has taken over a minute off her 5k time in the last month. That's incredible.

I think Hall would have set the heptathlon record if she didn’t run hurdles. She looked exhausted. Kudos - that was very unselfish of her!
