I checked the line and saw that on some betting site and they predicted UVA to cover, but lose 74-73.

 

Gators are now favored by 17 to 17 1/2

17.5 seems high, but we keep beating people by double-digits and Virginia has been blown out by both good teams they have played. Hopefully they don’t turn it around tonight!

 

I don't bet on Florida sports, but that's a lot of points. It's tempting.

Ha. I did. I'm already emotionally invested in the Gators. No need to add $ to the equation.

Plus I recognize that while I'm probably best able to predict the outcome of Gator sports compared to other contests due to following them so closely, my bias likely counteracts that knowledge.

I’m one that never bets on sports, partly because I’m a believer in the power of betting markets to set the proper odds for future contests, but I also think you’re right about enjoying sport for its own sake. Still, last week someone posted that the opening line for the UF-FSU football game was Gators by 5.5. Immediately I thought, ok I’m taking that bet. Then I looked up the odds to find that the Gators were actually favored by 12.5. Never mind, Vegas, I’ll hang on to my money for now.
