(SB) Florida vs. South Florida Official Game Thread

Kendra strikes out to end the inning. We are now in run-rule city. 3 outs and no runs will end the game.

Their clean-up hitter, who had struck out twice previously, homers on the 1st pitch to eliminate the run-rule possibility. 9-2 Gators. That was Rothrock's first earned run allowed - in her 18th inning in the circle.

 

Pop out to the catcher for the 2nd out.

 

Back-handed stab by Skylar and throw to 1st ends the 6th. Gators get to hit some more.

 

Korbe leads off the 7th with a HBP, her 4th free pass of the day.

 

Otis goes to 2nd on a passed ball, then Wallace blasts a HR to the opposite field. 11-2 Gators.

 

Jocelyn walks. Hovermale pinch hitting for Walsh.

 

Hovermale walks. 1st and 2nd, no outs.

 

AK hit into a fielder's choice. Runners on 1st and 3rd, McClellan up.

 

McClellan lines an RBI single. 12-2. Barnard strikes out in her first Gator AB, I think. Then Goelz lines out to SS to end the inning. 3 more outs and the W is in the books.

 

Rothrock going for the complete game. Gets her 7th strike out against the pinch hitter.

 

Pinch hitter lines a single up the middle for her first career hit. Keagan has to be getting tired after all the pitches she threw yersterday, then 93 so far today.

 

Bevis is up as a pinch hitter for USF. Hope they don't have a Butthead on their team!! She grounds into a fielder's choice out at 2nd. 2 down.

 

Pinch hitter lines a single into CF that gets by the ouitfielder and allows the runnder to score from first. 12-3.
