For sure. Kid will play on Sundays for quite a while. One of the biggest overall improvements from a player I can ever remember. I think Sale and company took him to another level and were prepping for a nice nfl payday.

 

Agree, we get some at this time but would have thought last year based on what you talked about would have also made sense.
Hopefully we pick up 4-5 starters from the portal in the next 4-5 days. It can be done just hoping the army is all over Brickmeyer, Goodwin from UK, Brighton, and others. Would have loved Lovett from Mizzou but he and many others have already committed.

 

Finished a month ago. They didn’t tell kids after the bowl. Timing wise that would be bad. Their comments and kids comments to transfer clearly tell us they knew soon after the FSU game.

 

Great point, by far his best year. He will do well wherever goes but our guys turned him into the road grader that earned him all conference.

Why wouldn’t White just enter the draft? He’s been here 4 years so I assume he has his degree. He might boost his stock a round or two with another good year but if nil money is a factor just go get paid for real now and start the clock ticking on getting to your second contract and not risk an injury

Exactly. If he was so highly thought of he would be going pro instead of jumping ship for a couple hundred thousands dollars (at most). His draft stock will never be higher after O’Cyrus made him look better than he was for a season.

Since this CFB is all business now, and Sale and Stapleton are putting lower ranked guys into the NFL now and turning a middle of the pack or lower OL into one of the conference's best OL, why would they throw finite NIL money in a big way at a 4th or 5th year player when they have the bodies to develop? We need that money at the skill positions (not RB) and defense.

 

I don’t know many teams that Tarquin could go to and start.

White is good enough to play for TN or other power 5 schools, just not championship level teams.
