There is a very low sense of humor rate, the further left or right you go.

What if... most of the of the abortion clients are not even minorities. Wouldn't that be interesting? That's the least investigated angle in all this.

It seems like your anti abortion stance is heavily vested in this “heart beat” word game.

To be clear are you saying

    1. Those quoted pediatric fetal cardiologists who say there is no formed heart and the “beat” is an electrical signal are wrong (ie there really is no heart and no beat )

    2. They are correct, there really is no heart and no beat, but because you can find the term used on a hospital site you are going to believe there is a heart beat, aka a word game?

It isn’t a heart. There is no beat. There is a clump of cells and an electrical signal.

    Word games.

I have tried to explain to you ad nauseum, and in terms a child could understand, that your “facts” have nothing to do with anything I’ve posted. You In return have used the typical right wing tactic of exhausting the discussion with non sequiturs and asking me to prove them wrong. It’s like trying to talk about how McDonalds doesn’t sell healthy food with someone who brags about how many hamburgers they’ve sold.

    Congratulations, you’ve exhausted me.[IMG]

Again, why does just about every major medical organization use "heartbeat" then? Even Planned parenthood does LOL. I mean that is losing the argument from the get go when the pro-abortion organization says heartbeat also.

You are playing word games and that won't work with me. There is NO fetal heartbeat at 6 weeks. It is a synthesized sound, a machine generating a sound that doesn't exist. You can get the largest stethoscope possible to listen for a heartbeat at 6 weeks and the only sound you will hear is people laughing at you.

In the same article I linked above, Dr. Verma compared using the phrase "fetal heartbeat" to a doctor telling a patient he or she has a "stomach bug" instead of "gastroenteritis." The doctors are essentially dumbing it down for the patients, but they would not use the phrase with a colleague.

It's unfortunate that science deniers have grasped upon that inaccurate phrase to adopt a medically incorrect position.

"The flickering that we're seeing on the ultrasound that early in the development of the pregnancy is actually electrical activity, and the sound that you 'hear' is actually manufactured by the ultrasound machine."

Not scientific articles, just the ones dumbing it down.

Sure. I guess Johns Hopkins and UF Health specialize in dumbing down things for everyone...

Many don't really say it is not a heart. They say it isnt a fully developed one, or it is an undeveloped one. A not fully developed what? A heart thats what.

That language is much less rigid than you seem to claim. A "not fully developed heart" can still be the heart.

I know someone who had a hand that never fully developed in the womb. It looked nothing like our hands do. It was still called a hand. A not fully developed hand.

That tissue firing in rhythm, on electric impulse, is the heart albeit very underdeveloped.

If an unborn child dies because of an undeveloped heart due to birth defect, they dont say the child dies9 because it had no heart. They say it died because the heart did not develop properly. That undeveloped or underdeveloped heart is still the heart.

So in the case I mentioned above. What would you call the woman wiih the hand that never developed properly. It is basically a nub with very few hand-like features. What is that thing attached to her wrist?. Scientifically speaking... What does science call that underdeveloped growth?

So no answer for your made up anecdotes vs my plethora of sources. Typical.

Glad we are done. I said as much earlier and let you sucker me back in.

Stop posting your church hating nonsense and we wont have to rebut it with data and links anymore.

They do on the public side and for good reason....look at who is reading them.

Please go find a photograph of a 6 week old human embryo's heart and post it.
Please go find a link to an audio recording of a 6 week old human embryo's heartbeat that has not been artificially synthesized and post it.

With all these anti-choice medical experts on the web, those should be relatively easy finds.

Lol. It is manufactured from ACTUAL electrical pulses detected by the machine.
The term often used by science is "detected". Ultrasounds DETECT a heartbeat.

    From UF Health:
Your doctor or midwife will listen for your baby's heartbeat, but may not be able to hear it. Most often, the heartbeat cannot be heard or seen on ultrasound until at least 6 to 7 weeks.

    Valinda Riggins Nwadike, MD, MPH:
A fetal heartbeat may first be detected by a vaginal ultrasound as early as 5 1/2 to 6 weeks after gestation. That’s when a fetal pole, the first visible sign of a developing embryo, can sometimes be seen.

But between 6 1/2 to 7 weeks after gestation, a heartbeat can be better assessed.
When Can You Hear Baby’s Heartbeat?

That heartbeat at 7mm (roughly 6-9 weeks I believe) is an indicator of a viable pregnancy. Per Cleveland Clinic:
If a fetal pole measures more than 7 millimeters and your provider doesn’t see a heartbeat, this is an abnormal pregnancy and will result in a miscarriage.
Fetal Pole: Ultrasound, Anatomy & Function.

Regardless of whether we want to call it a heartbeat or not, why does it matter? Why is it ok to you to abort a clump of cells less than a centimeter long at 5 weeks but not at 7 weeks? In many cases that doesn't give people enough time to either know that they are pregnant or make a decision (find out they're pregnant a few days before the 6 week cutoff). That's just cruel. Either allow someone enough time to make a decision or not. This 6 week bullshit is copout for politicians (and yourself) to try to play both sides of the issue.

I love how you seem to be so sure that you know why I believe what I do and why my motives are what they are.

Are you too narrow minded to admit that maybe I just want to see the biggest drop in abortion possible and it has nothing to do with playing either side? I feel sorry for people who are so bogged down with team that they can't even be thoughtful that some of us simply have real personal beliefs on a matter.

    It's sad really.
