    My sons were also adopted. The hoops that my wife and I went through were enormous. Catholic family services was another stupid hurdle we had to jump. They controlled most adoptions in Georgia at the time.

    This is the most hateful crappy post I have ever read on this sight. Is it possible to permanently ban this troglodyte?

    Until this thread I have never once seen you say you were ok with abortions for any reason up to 6 weeks. But if you have said it, feel free show me the post where you said it and I will agree I had it wrong.

    I agree. My concern is with how individual states are going to word their constitutional amendments. I absolutely agree with Roe's balancing test, but given the difficulty Florida had with its medical marijuana and voting rights restoration amendments, something much simpler and more straightforward is going to be needed...a hard time frame.

    The irony is while Planks view of it as murder is problematic at multiple levels, at least his opposition to abortion is more intellectually logical given he does think it is murder.

    In your case you don’t think it rises to murder, yet in spite of that you still think the rights of the embryo, which if killed doesn’t get the legal protections of a murder charge, nonetheless still exceed the rights of a woman to control her body. That means you assign a pretty low bar to the government dictating what happens with peoples body and have a low view of bodily autonomy - unless of course a vaccine is involved.

    I don’t get the huh-bub. Women would still have 41 days to kill their babies.

    A baby's cardiovascular system begins developing five weeks into pregnancy, or three weeks after conception. The heart starts to beat shortly afterward.

    Actually I don’t mind. You know you’ve won the debate when all they have left in their arsenal are ad hominem attacks. So it was just his way of waving the white flag. I’ve done it myself a few times.

    @l_boy

    Both of these statements are true. Your point?

    You are making that up with literally no data. My church is literally full of amazing adoptive parents. My family is made complete by adoption. Many families in our church chose children with special needs. (One completely blind from birth) as well as several minority children.

    I want to be clear. I 100% applaud you for what you have done. It is the greatest gift that you can give. You deserve praise. But just dumping on churches who by far are the majority of adoptive families is nonsensical and counterproductive.

    Adoption is a societal need. I don't think anyone wants to see a world where chirches are not involved in this equation.
