Whew. Took a bit to catch up but I’m going to weigh in on the controversies:

    • Paragraphs are your friend.
    • It’s a crime to misquote Pulp fiction
    • I hope you all do have kids and daughters if you’re strong
    • Being religious isn’t stupid.. but acting religious is. I believe cuz I like it, doesn’t hurt anyone and I am not about to make you pray to the clouds with me
    • This proposal is a crime and Desantis should be impeached if he signs.

Just for clarification to answer your very serious question, are we talking a Humanoids from the Deep scenario here?

    It’s a simple question.

does she own the fetus because she owns her body?

does she have rights against the fetus including killing the fetus?

how would you characterize that exactly while mentioning the fetus?

I didnt create the stupid term. I just choose a different date than you.

I have many exceptions for "forced birth" just like you do. Mostly the same ones in fact.

And I have stated many times that I am ok with the heartbeat being the start. But not this new fangled convenient heartbeat definition. I want to stick to the one referred to by UF Health, Cleveland Clinic, Hopkins etc. An overwhelming majority of women know they are late by that point. (Contrary to attempts by some made here).

So lets roll with 6 weeks, a rape exclusion (including statutory), health of mother, and fetal non-survivability,. Thats a moderate approach.

You want to allow any mom to end their pregnancy for any reason for 4 months. That is not moderate. That is a 100% all in. (extreme) position.

I'm not a fan of abortion for almost any reason, bit I also am willing to pull a Solomon and offer to split the difference to save as many unborn lives as possible.

You're fine with eliminating them all. (Up until the arbitrary point that you think it's OK to force birth of course.)

You guys sure get grouchy when its pointed out that your own silly terms get flipped back on you.

Forced Birth, Intolerant, etc. You guys hate that you dont own the store that sells those stupid terms.

You do realize that many are suggesting 4 months (ish), which is not viable right? Those are who I am really going after. They are just as much forced birthers as any of us.

If people want to stop getting all these silly terms flipped back on them, they should use they probably should have a more reasoned approach and not use them to start with.

Your shot at my sanity is noted though. ;)

The amount of development is substantially more at 4 months than an early embryo. Personally my preference would be to leave the cutoff at viability, but 4 months is at least more palatable. Most abortions happen before the 4th month too.

“But 4 months is forced birth too!” Is a moronic argument. You are really arguing the opposite, since we almost all agree that some “forced birth” is warranted in the case of post fetus viability, then all forced birth is OK.

Im not saying all forced birth is OK. I have very defined exceptions.

    You are missing the point.

I am saying the term is stupid..... equally.... For everyone that uses it.

I mean I could easily say that you are for "forced fetal execution". That would also be a stupid term that ignores nuances and exceptions.

While your terminology is cute abortion is virtually never forced unlike the opposite in which the state denies a woman the right to an abortion in almost all cases in effect forcing birth. This bumper stick comes to mind.

People like you and Plank intentionally conflate aborting an early embryo, which is basically a medically induced miscarriage, with the rather brutal imagery of rare late term abortions.

You just keep doubling down on your dumb argument. I said 4 months or so because that's what the current Florida law is. And now you're now backpedaling to say maybe a 6 week ban is ok. Abortion is your number one issue but now you're ok with it at 6 weeks?

Where have I done that? Pretty sure he calls it murder which is his opinion.

Now tell the folks at home my position on that terminology.

A drunk driver could kill you or your family. An abortion cannot.

Of course, bit this idea that we only legislate things we agree with is silly

I guess I’m a liberal on this matter. I believe a woman should have a choice as to whether or not she wants to give life to a child. I’m not sure there should be a limitation as to when that choice should end. While I personally find abortion to be abhorrent, I know I will never have to make that choice and as a white male of north and Western European heritage, I’m allowed no say in the matter.

The consequences of having an abortion will be borne by the woman deciding to have one and judgement of her decision will be by Him.

Roe is not given the credit it deserves. It was probably the most thoughtful way to do this. First trimester is completely between the woman and her doctor. 2nd trimester has some exclusions 3rd trimester government can stick their big nose completely in the woman’s business.
