And all this success without any blacks, trannies or hispanics allowed! Pretty impressive. :emoji_joy:

From the link which thread is about state economies, much easier to quantify than adding many subjective items to be included in a remix of the actual ranking presented by CNBC:

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – CNBC placed Florida as the top state in the nation for economy in 2024, the second straight year.

Following Florida was Texas, Tennessee, North Carolina and Arizona for economy.

Adding the other contributions changes it to a beauty contest, subjective, not unlike college team gymnastics.

I wouldn't live in any state not named the Free State of Florida based on the subjective factors.

DeSantis has been working on home insurance. How successful, I don't know. I do know I am pleased with my AAA combined home and auto and especially so after renovating my home with many insurance costs saving upgrades; roof, windows, doors, and Dade County garage door, live as far away from Dade County as you can be and still be in Florida.

After the last couple of hurricanes that hit southwest Florida, it's my auto part of my insurance that went up, about 25% as I recall.

Property taxes are largely determined in each county.

Curious why government needs to do this. Said differently, are you suggesting that a private company needs to take risk and losses for reduced premiums? Isn’t it up to free market insurance companies to decide to not provide insurance? Isn’t it a personal decision to have a less expensive home and live within your means?

Bundled with AAA? I see... The state should be able to put limits on counties tax collections to some degree.

The state does have a large umbrella that the counties operate under. It's up to the citizens of the counties and their local elected officials to operate under said umbrella. Good luck to you if you live in a lib run county.

You realize that is how they did the component rankings as well, right? Their economy ranking is a subjective combination of a variety of variables as well.

Fl is 5 on “overall” for business which is obviously good. Link to cnbc list the article in op references.

America's Top States for Business 2024: The full rankings

Florida ranks 38 for “quality of life” which seems to be the bigger story. Of course with desantis/maga disregard for the poor would help explain both rankings - high on economy & low on quality of life.

Not sure if sarcasm or saying the quiet part out loud.

At least they are looking at economic factors that puts Florida at #1. The other factors are too subjective, probably get 10 people in a room and all 0 will have a different opinion. I prefer the KISS method as it focuses on the economy.

It is pretty apparent that you have no idea what factors are used in any of them or how they are weighted. You just want one to be true and not the others. Heck, your first sentence gives you away, that the important thing is the result, not the method.

Really, list the economic factors CNBC used to rank Florida #1 or I'm calling BS on your purely argumentative and ridiculous statement.

I actually read the factors. I can list the factors for each component of their overall ranking. In terms of ranking "economy," here are the factors:

As you can see, it is a subjective combination of factors.

Time to repeat what I said in post #18:

"Yes, excellent news, not that our lefties here will accept it or acknowledge it."

You lefties are so easily predictable.

I mean the funny part of this is that you wouldn't accept the other components because they were subjective, while accepting this subjective measure because it told you what you wanted to think. I haven't raised objections to the use of subjective measures. You did.

You need to look up the definitions for quantify and subjective. You don't know the difference.

Insofar as what CNBC used to grade the Florida economy as #1, I have no problem with the factors they used.

Improve your reading comprehension while you look up the definitions.

I objected to adding subjective components to the economy quantity components to arrive at a different rating which is beyond the scope of Florida being CNBC's #1 state economy.

Quantify means to express or measure the quantity of something. Subjective means that something is based on personal preferences, feelings, or tastes. Ranking systems on broad concepts, such as "the economy," are fundamentally subjective. You just liked the ranking in one subjective conponent vs. the ranking in other subjective components.

The economy rating was itself a subjective component of an overall "business friendliness rating." It is pretty clear that you didn't even bother to read the information from CNBC.
