But the man whose life was saved was reportedly up to some mischief earlier that night. Police say it started when a man broke into a private residence by breaking a large bay window and climbing through the opening. So far, so good…right? Nope. As the man wiggled into the home, he cut himself…badly…on the jagged glass shards that remained in the window frame. It was an injury that would eventaully kill him if he didn’t get help very soon. But he didn’t seek help, he continued to bleed. Enter the dog walker. As the man walked along with his pooch, he noticed something odd. It was a trail of blood droplets that led toward his neighbor’s house. After following the trail of blood around the residence, he observed several broken windows and thick blood all over the front door. That’s when he called the cops. When police arrived, they found a man lying on the bed with blood everywhere. An officer who responded to the call said the bedroom resembled a horror movie. Investigators say 32-year-old Jonathan Leaf regained consciousness just as deputies entered the room. During questioning, the man said he didn’t remember much of the night leading up to the break-in. Officers believe Leaf cut his arm severely while trying to gain access to the home. Once he got inside, the man wandered around the rooms, splattering blood and guts everywhere until he passed out on the bed from loss of blood. The man was taken to a local hospital for stitches and treatment, then incarcerated at the Brevard County Jail. He is charged with burglary of an unoccupied dwelling and criminal mischief. I think I’d prefer someone break into my home and safely steal some stuff to someone breaking in my home and bleeding out in my bedroom and all over my house.
The guy stayed in the house after breaking in and cutting himself. But the guy walking the dog saw blood out in the sidewalk?
