Most Floridians that voted for DeSantis have no issue with it.

I don’t really care one way or another which makes me think it’s a pointless law.

If the law applies to members of one party but not another, it is still a law. It’s just a discriminatory law.

The majority rarely cares about the minority, nothing new there. The hyperpartisan world of today only magnifies that.

Do you care if the governor of the state spends the majority of his time and focus chasing another job?

Should the job be reduced to a part time position?

If you truly feel he's an authoritarian you should welcome the distraction. He will cause less harm.

I'm for anything that lessens the chance of Trump being POTUS again. Go for it.

Long ago I volunteered for a wildlife agency in a southern state. It was common there that the powerful citizen commissioners would have the game seasons and wildlife management boundaries manipulated to benefit them personally. So there would be “special” deer seasons on very limited spaces that not coincidentally exactly matched the boundaries of his property during the time he preferred. He also disliked members of the public hunting along the fence line along his property so I helped move the fences and posted signs well inside the WMA.
Rules, regulations, and laws are supposed to apply across the board. it should not matter your station in life. Changing a state law to benefit 1 person reminds me of those special deer seasons.

Most states allow their governor to run for President while serving.

Yes, they do. Florida does not - until the DeSantis special law is passed.
