Is this post sarcasm or are you serious? The special teams you list above were not bad for the most part. But as a whole, special teams bordered between an embarrassment to outright disaster. here is a smattering of examples but is not a total list of issues … starting in game one- two players with the same jersey numbers results in a penalty giving a first down to Utah who then scored a td. Player hurdles over or attempts to leap over a blocker on a punt block attempt, resulting in personal foul and a first down for UK which scores a TD on the next play vs Arkansas, as the offense races to spike the ball to stop the clock for a last second FG attempt, special teams runs onto the field. A dumb rule saves Florida from having the clock expire but it results in a penalty , pushing the FG 5 yards back and many people feel the chaos and or the extra distance is why the game winning FG was missed. And we lose game in OT. In 9 out of 12 games this year, Florida special teams had instances where only 10 players were on the field for FG or punt teams, sometimes multiple times in the sa game. A basic thing such as counting to 11 was extremely hard for UF special teams. just a small list of some of the debacles of our special teams. If you post was sarcasm, my apologies for the rant. Lol
It wasn't the talent, it was the complete lack of organization. We seldom went through an entire game without the wrong number of players on the field on ST at least once in the game. Special Teams coached themselves last year.
For those who feel the need to bash any potentially good news like hiring a position coach or signing a juco at a position of need I'll just drop this pic from Kelby Collins as a reminder that people are free to leave if they can't stick it out.... I have more than a few concerns about where the program is at and I think many of the complaints are absolutely valid but bashing the program at every turn is the job for fsu/Georgia etc fans. Congrats on joining the bandwagon...
No! I read it on the internet! That makes it official! The internet is NEVER wrong! By the way, SOS is coming out of retirement and Danny W. will be his OC! It's on the internet! Book it!
Either you are trying to be snide or you implying that any assistant coach should not make long term plans at any job he takesue to the nature of this position, what you suggest is true)
Either you are trying to be snide or you implying that any assistant coach should not make long term plans at UF, or due to the nature of this position in college and the NFL, what you suggest is true. Which is it.
I try to consider the whole picture. Especially when looking at a coach I'd never heard of before. That's all. I TRULY hope he's successful here!
