looks like he will not be charged with sexual assault but will be charged with the video. Florida requires two-party consent to capture audio.

I will say that the please say that it was likely consensual. I'm not sure on that. The dynamics of sexual assault, properly understood, do not necessarily show that what was on the tape had to be consensual. But I could perfectly understand not wanting to take that before a jury.

wonder what else they have on him if this was a shot across his bow? Or this could be a way to discourage funds to the pub party...they need a fundraiser and I'm not sure I would want to give that guy my gold bars.

I don't pretend to know, but given that Ziegler was taken down in Sarasota and they were so eager to get out public information, that seemed to be a calculated hit. Not saying he didn't deserve it, just that he would normally be protected. But I figured the next one was someone they thought they wanted and then this comes out now. I'm just noting those. I don't know who's behind it or maybe I'm just being too conspiratorial. But it sure seems unusual in a one-party state that controls all levers of power and information.

It sounds like they are to charge him with video voyeurism and not interception of oral communications. You are correct, Florida is a two-party consent state with some exceptions.

The irony to this situation is that the dummies calling for Ms. Ziegler's resignation are proving her point. Consenting adults having a 3-some is far different than pro-transgender viewpoints being pushed onto children, in many cases, without knowledge of the parents. I applaud Ms. Ziegler for not resigning her post on the Sarasota school board. She hasn't done anything hypocritical whatsoever.

Perhaps my opinion will change if someone can find me a link or source where she's openly opposed to consenting adults practicing homosexuality. To my knowledge, her positions have only pertained to the non-sexualization of children, which is a completely different cause than being against consenting adults practicing homosexuality.

The current Executive Director of the state party is also making news, doing to a hotel room what his party is doing to the state.

When George Riley Jr.’s family reported him missing last week, the 43-year-old FloridaRepublican Party executive director was hiding out in a local Hampton Inn, laying waste to everything within reach. That’s according to a police report obtained by the Tampa Bay Times, which said Riley, 43, was thrown out of the hotel on Wednesday thanks to his “extensive drinking and damage caused to the room.” Hotel employees said Riley had “urinated and vomited throughout,” trashed the room’s electric blinds, and was charged an additional fee for a deep cleaning to try and undo the mess.

    Story doesn’t end

Newly released documents from a now-closed criminal investigation into former state GOP chairperson Christian Ziegler show that his wife, Bridget Ziegler, directed her husband to find women in bars for the two of them to have sexual encounters with.

A memo written by a Sarasota police detective described “numerous” text messages between the Zieglers “where they are on the prowl” for women they would both be interested in. The memo describes Christian Ziegler secretly taking photos of women, and says Bridget Ziegler, a Sarasota County School Board member, told him to pretend to take pictures of his beer so he wouldn’t get caught.

Bridget Ziegler has advocated for legislation and policies that some say are anti-LGBTQ+. As details have come to light about her involvement in sexual encounters with women, protesters have rallied at school board meetings to protest what they say is a hypocritical divide between her private behavior and public stances, and to call for her resignation.

Earlier this month, Bridget Ziegler proposed a resolution to reject new federal Title IX protections against gender identity discrimination. (The school board later passed the resolution.) She’s previously backed the Parental Rights in Education Act, referred to by some as Don’t Say Gay, which prohibits classroom instruction about gender identity and sexual orientation.

Many people support her. They are also probably about to vote for an adulterous rapist as POTUS.

Many other people say they definitely won't vote for the adulterous rapist......but they are going to largely vote for a "political party" whose sole purpose is defending and lying for the adulterous rapist.

    Such is modern America.
