Florida-Florida State Set for Midweek Matchup (VB)

Major loss to this team. Hope it's short term.

Now do you really think volleyball and soccer are equivalent? You know just saying hmmm doesn't really convey your logic, assuming there is any.

 

VB appears to be on the same path as soccer. I hope it doesn’t sink to the same level, but it’s on its way.

 

That would take several years of sustained futility

 

As much as I love Mary and all she has done for Florida, I am starting to wonder the same thing. Perhaps the fall will not be so great, but there has been evidence that the program has slowly slipped over time. And things so far this year have not gone so well. Who would expect to lose to Mississippi State in VB...ever? I hope she can right the ship. And if her heart's not in it any more or she just doesn't have the energy to recruit, then maybe it's time to think about passing the torch. No one can coach forever.

 

No question this year has not been pretty, and I'm not sure any of us can figure it out.
But let's not forget the team was 21-4, made it to the elite eight, and lost a 3-2 heartbreaker to then undefeated and #1 Wisconsin......last year. The baffling thing is, this team on paper looked more talented.
