Why is Bender in there?

 

Bender struggling. HBP with bases loaded scores the first run for Dolphins.

 

I'm not sure we can even rely on Bender for these type innings.....I would work Gigante. Especially since we don't truly know when Delbrey will be ready

I think Bender has walked 4 batters and a wild pitch. Can't throw a strike.

I guess we don't really know until we give them a shot. Not a great showing by Bender, but she got out of it at least. 13-2 final score.

 

Needless to say - Bender will not be appearing in any SEC games. What a downer to end a sparkling game.

 

Transfer from Tennessee....essentially a free arm for a year

 

She's a grad transfer from Tennessee who didn't pitch much for them. Coach Walton was just trying to add some depth to the staff and, apparently she did pretty well in the fall.
