Speaking of a violation of flag etiquette (from 4 U.S.C. §8)
The flag should never be carried flat or horizontally, but always aloft and free. The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. It should never be festooned, drawn back, nor up, in folds, but always allowed to fall free.

That's why I feel like its jumped the shark anyway, so anyone that wants to get upset about flag code violations by anyone is really just looking to pick nits.

Republican takes on a Republican President. The President has ABSOLUTE AUTHORITY to extort a foreign president for political gain. The President can incite an insurrection, those are his free speech rights!

Republicans on a Democratic President. The admin didn’t follow proper flag etiquette. The President wore a tan suit. IMPEACH!!!

Yeah, that sounds about right. Something something double standards.

I can assure you that I did not tell you how I think YOU should think, and that was not my intent. I was merely trying to explain that based upon the letter of the law, it is not in fact a flag etiquette breach. At the expense of repetition and the obvious, you are most welcome to think as you wish.

You must forgive them. They are in between denial and anger in going through their stages of grief.

I've always thought it was a little overblown too. It comes down to a matter of respect imo, much like religions icons. When when someone intentionally disrespects the flag like burning it to make a statement, I take offense as intended--as if someone raised their middle finger at me...not because *a sacred piece of cloth was desecrated*.

(Same with religious icons. e.g.--someone spray paints graffiti on a statue of Our Lady, it's a 'screw you', and taken as such--not a desecration of something sacred per se. By the same token, a benign image of Jesus Christ used in a greeting card for instance, not intended disrespectfully, ought to be taken as such, and not as a desecration of a sacred image).

Gubment shouldn’t post any other flags, period. I also don’t like clothing made from Flags. Especially on non calorically challenged. (Or calorically enhanced)

    Now, get off my lawn.

Does anyone remember the flag fiasco at Valdosta State University years back? A lady "rescued" a flag being walked on as part of a protest?

We've seen it all, from people putting political slogans or politicians' faces on the U.S. flag, to changing the colors for political points, and even using the flag as their thong design. Nothing says respect like shoving it up one's rear.

I actually wondered once whether the etiquette code "requires" people to stand for the national anthem if they're watching at home. I think a Marine told me that he didn't think it was an issue if you're not in person. I don't stand but I still don't like people to talk over it, lol. I guess we all have our limits.

I definitely approve of the pics although they do constitute a technical violation of flag etiquette.

I see my point has been made already, lol.

This is the lady that stopped the flag from being disrespected.

Never cared about the pride flag.

Never really cared about the blue line flag.

I think the swimsuits are in poor taste.
