Exactly. If we play the best ten teams in college football and we are the twentieth best, we would be winless and one of the best teams in the country. That’s not our schedule but it could bend a lot in that direction. How many top ten teams do we lose to this year. That number could change drastically by the end of next year. It could be only one or two or it could be six or seven.
I got it. I hear you. And — sorry to repeat myself again — I think if he had not burnt up all of his grace the last two seasons by blowing a couple of easy wins, then there would be a lot more understanding for the strength of schedule this year. There’s just no room for the letdowns against easy kills like Vandy in 22 and Arkansas in 23. He has to shape this team so it’s born-again hard and ready to eat the guts out of Miami, aTm, Kentucky, etc.
Incidentally, that lady trying to make a name for herself doesn't have to! Her husband, Eric Wilbur was a punter during the Urban Meyer era; and her father and brother played football at UF as well. That doesn't make her an authority, but she does have a pretty good pedigree. And kudos to her that she's created her own channel.
Miami and A&M could be top ten teams. If they are mediocre as they’ve been recently they should be wins. I’m not up to guessing if they will be good or not.
Well, we have just as much chance being a Top 10 team as Miami or aTm if all we have is last year to go on.
Agreed but more realistic is that 7-8 wins and being ranked will be better than Vegas thinks. Odds are against 8 and more likely 5-7 wins. Not only how good we are will decide that but how good our schedule really is.
You’re right. It’s clear common sense. Billy isn’t getting Year 4 unless we improve immensely this season. It’s Year 3. The excuses are over and done with.
It’s how improvements are view and it’s not a simple equation. Evaluations won’t just be a win total or they could put that number out right now.
Well, what idiot would deliberately desire the Gators to have a bad year just to prove you wrong! So, why keep discussing a matter when you will never know the answer, duh?
