So they both were off by 1. D1 had Campbell instead of South Carolina and BA had Boston College instead of South Carolina. Founders Park can sell a lot of tickets.
They were only leaving SC out b/c of the 8 from SEC stigma. It was just a matter of time. Might get 10 when expand..lol I never liked BC as a host really. They wanted a NE host but just werent good enough.

It would be embarrassing for the CWS to contain 8 sec teams. The committee will make sure that doesn't happen
D1 gives their reasoning for not including USC here, and it sounds reasonable enough to me: We have projected the SEC to host seven regionals all week, but the committee also deemed South Carolina’s overall body of work worthy of an eighth host spot out of the league, despite the Gamecocks losing their last four weekend series and 11 of their last 14 games overall. South Carolina finished with a modest 17-15 aggregate record in the SEC, but it was propped up by a No. 8 RPI and a 20-18 record against the top 50. The Gamecocks hosting is a mild surprise given their brutal last month, but it’s far from a total shocker considering their overall metrics and their superb first half. We believed Campbell (which won the Big South regular-season and conference tournament titles, finished with a No. 14 RPI and a 9-5 record against the top 50 — which isn’t easy to do as a member of the 15th-ranked RPI conference) had a strong case, however. We also would have awarded Southern Miss or Boston College a home regional before the Gamecocks. But the committee saw it differently, and that’s all that matters in the end. SEC lands record eight of 16 regional host sites • D1Baseball
I asked D1 crew what makes SC different from UK.. I actually made case SC above UK .. All they said was RPi & SOS...lol RPI virtually same(no diff between 3 & 8) and regardless of SOS rank,,SC had better OOC schedule. Played Clemson if for no other reason. You couldnt take one w/out the other IMO. I was fine leaving both out or both in. Vols should of hosted to in reality..as they will show @ Ind St Im sure. It seems the main complaint is its half the host. How many do they think SEC will get after expansion?? lol Hopefully by then the format is changed and we have 32 1st round host. Solves the whining.
D1 guys still debating whether it's Gators or Arky # 2... they agreed Gators but seemed to be hedging. We'll see.
Saw a projection(on3 i think) That had AU 16 Ind St 15 I think if AU was below SC & UK, they wouldnt be hosting,,but??? AU/ Butch doesnt care which top 8 seed they beat again..
The AD's of Coastal Carolina and Indiana State are on the committee along with John Cohen of Miss State. Even if they exit the room when discussing their teams--you know there is some influence.
