The juxtaposition (sorry I didn't know there would be ENG LIT) is the same for UF/ARK settling the SEC is also the same for WF/Clemson in the ACC. Even if they met during the season its a whole new ball game in Omaha.
D1 still has Gators as #2 overall: D1Baseball Field of 64 Projections: May 28 • D1Baseball Our regional is Oregon/Northweastern/Army who are 37/46/116 in the Massey composite (College Baseball Ranking Composite). And opposite a mid-major-led #15 regional. TL;DR: may D1 prediction to God's ears!
That's pretty much the regional I want, don't hate the potential supers but Campbell is solid and so is South Carolina when playing well.
Yeah I don't really like to see South Carolina on the opposite side of the bracket. I know they have been bad lately, but it is a new season now and they don't fear us. Would hate to face them for a shot at Omaha.
Here is the latest from D1Baseball's projections. I hope these are true. I hope we get an amicable super-regional. GAINESVILLE 1 Florida* (2) 1 Boston College (15) 4 Army* 4 Fairfield* BOSTON 2 Oregon* 2 Connecticut* 3 UNC Wilmington* 3 Washington And the rest are in the free to read article. Another halfway decent upset as Lipscomb just pounded FGCU 12 to 6 and it wasn’t even that close. I say decent upset because most would say it is an upset but I would say not much of one at all as Lipscomb is a very good team. Reported back to the board that I watched them about seven weeks ago what and was impressed. FGCU loses six starters and about 85 home runs from a team with a bunch of 5th and 6th year kids. Was a great chance due FGCU w so many 5-6 year guys.
It makes no sense for D1 to not have a single SEC team in the 7, 8, 9, or 10 seed locations. All that does is make sure there is no SEC team represented in the lower spots on each side of the bracket and force more SEC matchups before they can get to Omaha.
The NCAA will absolutely try to match up as many SEC on SEC matchups in the supers as they can. They hate that the SEC gets so many bids and so many hosts. South Carolina will be a #2 in whatever regional is matched up with UF, if not the host in said regional. The committee wants to eliminate one of UF/SCe.
SEC 1(host) seeds have been paired in Supers twice since 2017,,both times in '19 Im as big a conspiracist as anyone of this stuff(ncaa selections) but IMO theyve let the seeds(T16) fall where they fall last few years.
