Thanks for these. I remember last year looking forward each week for the update while the anticipation grows for Regionals.

Weird, I know its early and lots of factors like SOS go into this but #14 Campbell gets to host a Regional but number #15 FGCU barely makes it in as a 4 seed. I guess that's why they call it projections.

Campbell has an RPI of 13 and an ELO of 21
FGCU has an RPI of 56 and an ELO of 31

I think FGCU comes in a little higher in the rankings than they should because of a series win in Tallahassee. Talk about a team spiraling out of control right now. That Clemson series pits the two worst teams in the conference against each other this weekend (neither makes the ACCT if the season ended today). SWAC has already set a program record for most consecutive losses.

Seems like the Gators are a little low, but not much difference between a 1 and 8 seed. I am fine with them anywhere in that range. Win your Regional and you host a Super.

Its all over(streak) Still unsure who would take over as longest. A UF/LSU is good as guess as any.. 20 or so maybe.

They're having a rough year. Midweek games have not been kind. Last week they were routed by RPI #185 at home.

*EDIT* just saw they were in the Stanford Regional, projected to win their conference's autobid.

LOL yep. Stanfords. Fresno is D1s guess at MWC tourney winner.. SDST has 1/2 game lead on them. And SJST the best rpi, also 1/2 game back.. SJST has been much better program recently, but Im sure D1 has their reasoning.

Some field randomness I looked up other night for debate on other board

Last 10 tourneys overall #1 seed by conference.

    Pac12 5 times Org St 3, UCLA 2

SEC 4 times UF 2, Ark, Vols *UF also #2 twice

ACC 1 time, 10 tourns ago. UNC

In the SEC (last year missed, SEC record, RPI):

    Vandy (2005, 13-17, RPI = 30)
    FLORIDA (2007, 15-15, RPI = 36)
    LSU (2011, 13-17, RPI = 23)
    Arkansas (2016, 7-23, RPI = 121)
    Ole Miss (2017, 14-16, RPI = 38)
    Tennessee (2018, 12-18, RPI = 76)
    Auburn (2021, 10-20, RPI = 99)
    Texas A&M (2021, 9-21, RPI = 87)
    Georgia (2021, 13-17, RPI = 40)
    everybody else (2022)

Last year the worst SEC team to make the field won it all.

If any SEC team makes the field they have a shot at winning it all.

    They missed in 2016. 35-19, RPI = 44, 5th in conference at 16-14.

In the ACC, the 2nd longest streak is UNC with 5 in a row.

Vandy would be next (16 I think?), followed by Florida (14?). Miami held the record until 2017 I believe.

edit: Tx A&M missed in 2021 or they would be 2nd.

Looks that way per WES #s. a Texas or Ok St would be only other maybes, & think both missed fairly recently.

and yeah on aTm. Last miss before then was '06

FGCU’s toughest games against FSU. Their schedule hurts them. No Miami, no Florida.

Yup on FGCU, when toughest games or best wins are FSU and you don’t play Florida or Miami can’t lose many. If they stay below 11-12 losses they may be ok but again schedule.
