This is the final week of fall ball. Wed 11/13 - O&B game 1 @ 3:30. I was not able to make it due to hosting out-of-town company, but my assistants were there and I am told will post a quick summary. Thu 11/14 - O&B game 2 @ 5:30. Not sure I'll make this one either. Sat 11/16 - O&B final game 3 @ 10:00 am. Should be a big crowd with everyone in town for the football game. Wilson follows with a single, but is stranded. McDonald goes short to first. Myers and Bullen strikeout Blue: Donay K looking Boser Ks Nadeau Fly RF Orange up 1-0 6th Inning Orange: Kurland out short to first Cyr walked. Took second on a wild pitch Evans Ks Heyman out 3rd to 1st Blue: Brookins singles to left field Clayton sacrifice bunt advances Brookins Jones bunt single advances Brookins. Jones steals second Shelton thrown out 3rd to 1st Stripling thrown out 2nd to 1st 7th Inning Orange: scores one run. Wilson singles and goes to third with a wild pick-off throw by Ong McDonald pops up to catcher Myers sacrifice flies right. Run scores Bullen 3rd to 1st. Orange now up 2-0 Blue: Donay singles Boser K looking Nadeau singles. Donay to 3rd Brookins strikes out looking. Donay tries to steal home and is thrown out pitcher to catcher. 8th Inning Orange: Kurland leads off with another K swinging Cyr walks and goes to second on a wild pitch by Whritenour Cyr advances to 3rd Evans fly out to right. Cyr comes home on a wild pitch Heyman flies out to center to end inning Orange up 3-0 Blue: Menendez in for Orange Clayton line drives to center for first out Jones walks Shelton drives in Jones with a double. Jones comes in limping with a hamstring. (Back out in field in 9th) Stripling walks. Donay gets to first on a fielder’s choice Boser hits to short who forces Donay at second for 2nd out but scores Shelton. Nadeau hits to pitcher who throws to first for 3rd out. Score now Orange 3, Blue 2 9th Inning Orange: Wilson strikes out swinging McDonald out short to first With two strikes on Myers, pitcher Whritenour stops his pitch and indicates he is hurt. The inning is stopped and Blue comes to bat. Blue: Coach O’Sullivan sends three Blue players to load the bases. (You have to understand that in scrimmages weird things happen). Bases loaded. Batter (lead off Jones) hits to first who throws out runner coming from third. Next batter (I think it was Shelton) hits to second but throw home is late. Run scores. Score now tied 3-3. Pop up for second out. Next batter hits to first. Runner on third thrown out at home. Runner thinks he is safe. Confusion reigns. Game over. PHEW! Can hardly wait for tomorrow.
