At least Iraq was led by a rather unsavory person with open hostility towards the US. Canada on the other hand... I don't know. They said sorry too many times and are now seen as betas? No clue.

Saddam was our guy until he invaded Kuwait like a dumbass, which he probably thought he could do given his standing

You think it’s pointless to keep fentanyl out? Are you a drug dealer?

How do you suggest we keep fentanyl out?

    I don’t have a suggestion but that doesn’t mean it’s pointless

There's a reason you don't have a suggestion. It's the same reason it's pointless to try:

We can't stop drugs from entering this country.

I snagged several doses at International Gator Day where we volunteered last year. The county provided them. I don't worry about us but there are lots of teens in our neighborhood and if I can help someday I will be glad I did. The lady from the county was wonderful and explained everything to me. Love and help your neighbors!

Fentanyl is given in hospitals. Effective pain killer when administered properly.

A good friend of mine lost his stepson to Fentanyl last week. I realize that is one perso and anecdotal but when it hits close to you it makes an impact.

Understand that since 2000 republicans have never had a great sense of direction. Remember on 9/11 we were attacked by the Saudis, so we went to war with Iraq. Since Trump is back in office we’re now siding with the communists who attack sovereign countries and going to war with Canada, Mexico, and Europe. That’s what they do.

And the president is apparently now preparing an executive order to declare a legal and effective painkiller a "weapon of mass destruction"

Trump to declare “illicit” fentanyl “Weapon of Mass Destruction," per draft EO

I guess they want to figure out a way to combine the smashing successes of the war on drugs and the invasion of Iraq into a single endeavor. For real, I think the angle here is to legally justify military incursions into our neighbors. Kinda like Clear and Present Danger by Tom Clancy, another story where nothing bad happens at all and it works out fine for the president (of course that movie features a fictional US where congressional oversight is something to be feared).

Some years ago I would up in the hospital for a gall bladder attack. They gave morphine and that didn’t do much for the pain.

So they tried dilaudid, which is supposed to be two to eight times as strong as morphine. In mere seconds it felt like the pain was being peeled off of me scalp to toes.

Fentanyl is supposed to be 50 to 100 times stronger than dilaudid.

    Yikes!

It is interesting to me that people receive drugs, in the hospital, that are probably stronger than cocaine, yet generally resume their lives without addiction.

    But that’s another discussion.

@duggers_dad and @wgbgator - the key phrase is "if administered properly". A teenager smoking some weed for the first time has no idea if it is laced with fentanyl.

Perhaps I should have clarified, receive in hospital drugs more potent than are commonly found on the streets, but have no craving for them after they go home from the hospital.

I understand, lots of things are safe if used correctly or administered by a professional, and we certainly dont need the government declaring they are akin to nuclear weapons to give them more power
