70-75 is mandatory retirement age for judges in almost every state.

He is on record as saying that her opinion was instrumental in his decision to run the first time. She got married at WH and lives there now.

Joe Biden Plays Mario Kart with Granddaughter Naomi at Camp David: 'Little Rusty but He Still Won'
Naomi, who is the daughter of the president's son Hunter Biden, told Today last month that she and the rest of President Biden's grandchildren sat down ahead of the 2020 election to help convince him his decision to run for president was a good one.

"We just kind of all agreed that we had to sit my grandparents down face-to-face and tell them not only that we want them to run but that we'll be okay if they do run," she said.

The 28-year-old lawyer confirmed that she and her now-husband have been residing in the executive mansion alongside her grandparents, President Biden and first lade Jill Biden, in a Vogue digital cover story published Tuesday.

Thanks. Seems I was wrong (again). Biden is a strong family man, though I don't think he acted honorably toward the out of wedlock conceived granddaughter, which he has recently rectified. Were I president, I'd want my family around me should that be their wishes. They'd keep me grounded and in a good mood.

and I'm certain that the perks that come with living in the white house can be addictive. Biden said he would run once but the whole clan is loving the life and encouraging him to run again and I seriously doubt that is the best thing for him, or us.

Dems need to do better and recognize that Kamala isn't it. If Biden was grounded, he would see that and help identify a worthy successor. But politics and personal agendas rule the decision matrix so doing the right thing isn't given much of a chance.

Since the Senate was set up more to represent the states there is no reason to have Senators based on population. That’s what the house is for.

That's okay I'm sure her Chinese driver helped her to "remember" important things on national security.

Again, I'm not sure why there is so much talk about age limitations for senators and presidents. We know how old they are when we vote for them. If we have concerns about age, we don't vote for them. Why are we asking government to take away our power? If you're looking for someone to blame Feinstein on, blame the voters of California. Not her. Not her family. Shit.. I'd be a senator at 92 if you voted me in. Why would I pass on such a blessed opportunity?

Agree here. It is the voters issue but another problem is a lack of actual options. The question McConnell froze on yesterday was about his potential run in 2026! He’d be 84 but given no real options other than a Dem candidate how do you rectify? It’s very similar to the Presidential race we are about to be set with. Two bad choices.

Its not so much the issue of the age when you vote them in, the problem is that Senators have so much power along with the precarity of senate majorities & committees, etc. Feinstein is on the judiciary committee, and if the opposition want to hard ball or prevent/delay replacements, because its the judiciary that actually runs this country, the incentives are to Weekend at Bernies someone, whether they are incapacitated at 55 or 85. If McConnell steps down, Democrats have more room to maneuver too. The Constitution is a psychotic arrangement for everyone. Abolish the Senate!

I suspected I would. I threw his name in there just to see how much hyper-partisanship has infected you. There’s a cure. It’s called open-mindedness.

Not that it would work in a non-hierarchal structure like the USA, but in the RCC, all Bishops (essentially the "governor" of the diocese), must submit their resignation to the Pope when they turn 75. The Pope does not always accept the resignation, especially if the Bishop still seems able, but it must be tendered. Cardinals remain Cardinals until death, but they lose their conclave voting rights (selecting the next Pope), at age 80. They still have the honors, but not the main power.

Can you expand on that? Not disagreeing, but I may be missing some of those impacts (putting aside old relationships, favors owed, etc., which might be affected).
