People: “LOL at Russia, a gas station masquerading as a country.”

Same people: “I can’t sleep and I’m too sick to go to work. My world is collapsing around me … and it’s all because of RUSSIA!!!”

Russia isn't a gas station masquerading as a country. It is a money laundering operation masquerading as a gas station masquerading as a country.

My recollection is th a t th r Democrats set up a fake Russian bot farm in 2020 but I can't Google up the story.

No matter. The real question is which is more disturbing:

    1. The Russians trolling our elections?

    2. The US Deep State using AI bots/algorithms to control US elections to help Democrats, as @mikebenzcyber has posted about for many months

    Stephen F. Cohen:

Even Henry Kissinger — I think it was in March 2014 in the Washington Post — wrote this line: “The demonization of Putin is not a policy. It’s an alibi for not having a policy.” And then I wrote in reply to that: That’s right, but it’s much worse than that, because it’s also that the demonization of Putin is an obstacle to thinking rationally, having a rational discourse or debate about American national security. And it’s not just this catastrophe in Ukraine and the new Cold War; it’s from there to Syria to Afghanistan, to the proliferation of nuclear weapons, to fighting global terrorism. The demonization of Putin excludes a partner in the Kremlin that the U.S. needs, no matter who sits there...

Putin called George Bush after 9/11 and said, “George, we’re with you, whatever we can do,” and in fact did more to help the Americans fight a land war in Afghanistan to oust the Taliban from Kabul. … Russia still had a lot of assets in Afghanistan, including a fighting force called the Northern Alliance. It had probably better intelligence in and about Afghanistan than any country, and it had air-route transport for American forces to fight in Afghanistan. He gave all this — Putin gave all this — to the Bush administration. Putin’s Kremlin, not a member of NATO, did more to help the American land war and save American lives, therefore, in Afghanistan, than any NATO country.

Vegasfox: Bush repaid Putin by expanding NATO towards Russians borders and withdrawing from the ABM treaty. Both perceived by Russia as existential threats that made it increase military spending, which it did not want to do

My recollection is that one of the so-called Russian troll/bot farms was a fake set up by Democrat money to make it look like a Russian operation.

Has a certain "alien" poster been entirely absent ever since this Russian troll farm was eliminated?

He is one of the bigger trolls out there. He just can't figure out how to get them to let him into the farm. Apparently, the Russians have standards, and if they find that one of their trolls is too annoying, they won't let them on the farm.
