Federal appeals court allows Texas immigration law to take effect

This goes against the Constitution, and legal precedent. Arizona SB 1070 over a dozen years ago gave Arizona LEO's the ability to arrest and detain based on immigration status. This was overturned by the SCOTUS who ruled immigration is clearly Federal jurisdiction and the only thing locals in Arizona could do is ask about immigration status.

If the SCOTUS doesn't step in and change this, what does this mean about the Supremacy Clause in the Constitution?

 

Clearly unconstitutional. More buffoonish hackery from the Fifth Circus. The district judge who granted the injunction is a Reagan appointee. Alito just put an administrative stay in place until next Wednesday for briefing before SCOTUS.

Time for Texas to take action. Establish a Texas border 5 miles inland from the U.S. border. They can enter the U.S. but they can’t enter Texas.

This would allow the U.S. to fly the immigrants to other parts of the country.

You then lock down Texas. I just looked and I counted 83 main access points into Texas (interstates or major roads). You set up entry checkpoints on every road. Anyone 18 and up has to provide proof of citizenship or they are turned around and denied entry.

On the interstate you can set up express lanes for Texas residents. ID or facial req and they go right through.

If an illegal tries to enter they are turned around and ICE is notified. Put up an electrified fence around the Texas border. The message becomes clear, no illegal immigrants in Texas.

 

This SCOTUS apparently can't read the Constitution, has no idea what the Supremacy Clause states, nor do they honor any past legal precedent. The Constitution clearly states citizenship and immigration is Federal jurisdiction. If the Feds decide someone can stay in the US, Texas law should not be able to say otherwise. This has been the ruling for decades from other states trying to do what Texas is trying. This should be a no-brainer, and the injunction to halt the law should stand, and the law ruled unconstitutional. But Trumpers have no brain.

It's official, the SCOTUS has ruled in favor of Texas by a 6-3 margin. The state of Texas has the right to arrest and deport people here illegally back to Mexico.
