This particular portion of the article struck me in particular:

(In response to the Hillary Clinton email scandal, Trump himself signed a law in 2018 that made it a felony to remove and retain classified documents.)

The act establishes that presidential records are the property of the U.S. government and not a president's private property. Put in place after Watergate to avoid the abuses of the Nixon administration, the law imposes strict penalties for failure to comply. "Whoever, having the custody of any such record, proceeding, map, book, document, paper, or other thing, willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, falsifies, or destroys the same, shall be fined" $2,000, up to three years in prison or "shall forfeit his office and be disqualified from holding any office under the United States."

Yup. Trump signed a law solely designed to keep Hillary from ever being eligible to run again.

    Sweet Jesus, the irony.

So what? That is is right. Who cares? Is it a requirement to review a search warrant application that a judge must belong to the same political party as the subject of the warrant?

So we have to wait until a republican is in the white house to investigate Trump? and if that republican happens to be Trump, we all know he is not going to investigate himself. Idiocy.....

Yes. Report is that the CI directed the agents to exactly where some documents are.

Interesting to see how this develops.

I will support anyone that has no appeal to extreme left or right. causes. I will not vote for anyone that supports or supported a blatant overthrow of a Democracy that i and others served to defend. That leaves out most Republicans due to their trump love thing.

Trump is refusing to release the warrant and asserting that the burden to show legitimacy of the search is on DOJ. Of course, DOJ expressly does not comment on pending investigations. So Trump screams the warrant is baseless and allows speculation as to evidence being planted without saying what the warrant says. The warrant will say what the FBI was looking for and recite the underlying statute. And, without stating what was being looked for or was seized. Which Trump would know. Utter false complete nonsense from the Trumpers. Typical BS and his lemmings line up to go off cliffs for him. As usual.

Let reconcile "the FBI planted evidence" cries with trump's "who's wearing a wire" combo.

"Donald Trump is worried he may have a rat — or multiple rats — in his midst. He’s wondering if his phones are tapped, or even if one of his buddies could be “wearing a wire.”

As the federal and state investigations into Trump and his orbit swell, so have the former president’s suspicions, according to two sources familiar with the matter and another two people close to the twice-impeached former Oval Office occupant."

With Feds Circling, Trump Asks Allies: Who's 'Wearing a Wire'?
