Special Master Judge Dearie asked Trump's lawyers for some beef behind Trump's claims that some of the documents are personal. The best part of Dearie's statement was Dearie was confused how a single document can both be Trump's personal property and still be potentially covered by privilege, which would mean the doc belongs to the government. As Dearie put it, "Unless I’m wrong, and I’ve been wrong before, there’s a certain incongruity there. Perhaps the plaintiffs’ counsel will address that in a submission."

A federal judge ruled that DT made false representations to the court.

I'm just shocked that he actually signed something and didn't just have somebody else sign for him. Don't write anything down, don't use email or texts. no evidence

    more details

Likelihood of Trump prosecution has gone up after new Mar-a-Lago revelation: former White House lawyer (msn.com)

Reacting to a report from the Washington Post that Donald Trump stashed top secret documents related to Iran's missile program and documents detailing highly sensitive intelligence operations aimed at China at his Mar-a-Lago resort, former FBI official Andrew McCabe and former White House lawyer Norm Eisen agreed the news was "stunning."

Appearing jointly on CNN with host Ana Cabrera, Eisen took the lead in saying the odds of the former president being prosecuted under the Espionage Act took a leap if the report turns out to be true.

According to David Laufman, a former senior Justice Department official, "The exceptional sensitivity of these documents, and the reckless exposure of invaluable sources and methods of U.S. intelligence capabilities concerning these foreign adversaries, will certainly influence the Justice Department’s determination of whether to charge Mr. Trump or others with willful retention of national defense information under the Espionage Act."

Can't wait to hear the short-fingered vulgarian's justification for keeping these documents.
    Must have been planted....

I don't put it past Donald Trump to have anything up to and including nuclear codes in his safe in Mar-A-Lago.

I also don't put it past the other side to plant anything up to and including nuclear codes in his safe in Mar-A-Lago.

I wish he'd just ride off into the sunset. He's a bigger POS than the POSs that want to bring him down.

    Yuck.

I think it's utterly incomprehensible that the DOJ would plant evidence on a former president. Even if they had a vendetta, there is no reason to. It was established that trump had classified documents and presidential records on premise.

I find it difficult to bothside this situation to the point of contemplating FBI agents and NARA committing felonies.

OK that's you. I don't find it difficult to believe in the slightest. I mean FDR had J Edgar Hoover wiretap the LA Chamber of Commerce, on the grounds of national security (an alleged fascist group). Kennedy had the FBI wiretap MLK's headquarters, on the grounds of national security (Soviet interference). Nixon used them to harass his Democratic opponents (because he was an ass).

I'm not saying that's what happened. I'm just saying it wouldn't surprise me if it did.

The FBI has regained my trust after those illegal surveillance activities that occurred 50 years ago.

I will say this. - the FBI ain’t your friend and they don’t play nice. But I also don’t think they’d directly plant evidence (although they might tell you they have such evidence, or even that they planted it). And I am 100% confident they wouldn’t plant evidence in the home of a former President, when there’s cameras everywhere.

And plant it in advance so Trump associates could reference it and include it in an item to be searched for.

I know they're not my friend, but they're our friend.

Never talk to the FBI w/o a lawyer.

Wish I could take credit, but that goes to the founders of Spy Magazine who coined it back in the 80s. Same as it ever was.

Except that Trump had claimed his right to those documents in court and publicly stated he declassified them. If he contended the docs were planted, he would file that in court and abandon his claims thst he had executive or other privileges. His inconsistent public Statements and filings reflect that he is lying.
