I am preparing myself for the Disagree Bacon, but the 2020 Gators football team will always be one of my favorites. Obviously 2020 sucked for most of us in a lot of ways. It was particularly hard for me and my business. I was so happy to see the SEC go forward with a delayed season after the Big 10 and others cancelled theirs initially. I was so happy to watch the Gators play some games even as the rest of the world was going crazy for the year. And, man, that offense was so fun to watch. It had been a long, long time since we had seen a Gators offense perform as well as Trask, Pitts, Toney, etc. Man, that was so much fun and such a boost for me in a crappy year.

It is a shame that the defense that year was horrendous. And then we had all of the bowl opt-outs. But, damn, the 2020 Gators were fun to watch during the season. How fun is it to watch a team that is a threat to score almost every possession? Trask should have won a Heisman. By no means are the 2020 Gators our best football team. But they were fun to watch during a hard time in my life and I'm sure many others' as well.

And the uniform/ helmet variations that year are the best we have ever had. That is a bonus as well.

Loved the way that team prepared and stayed focus to ensure we get the "Monkey" off our back.
First Official SEC Title that lead to many more, and Obviously National Chmapionships!

1991. The 2 lines. OL-Mark White, Hesham Ishmael, Cal Dixon, Jim Watson, Tony Rowell. DL-Darren Mickell, Tony McCoy, Brad Culpeper, Harvey Thomas, William Gaines, Kevin Carter. THOSE were Good Ol' Days. Rich McGeorge as OL Coach and Red Anderson as DL Coach.

Man, can't enjoy entire seasons because of a loss. Must be quite the perfectionist in your personal life, sounds awful.

Without losses they're not really rivalries.

On topic probably any season 95 for me. First year I was old enough to really be a fan and know whats going on, plus not a bad team.

Read again. I said I can't enjoy as much as the others. Thread was about favorite season. Doesn't mean I didn't enjoy all of those other years mentioned. For example 92 was a fun year because we over achieved and got better as the year went. Beat Georgia on Halloween. Played in the first sec title game and almost beat Bama at legion field, basically a home game for them.

Weird flex to come at me on an opinion.

  7. I was fortunate to be a student during all three national championships, so the 1996, 2006, and 2008 teams were my favorites. I grew up overseas, so I grew up watching my uncle’s favorite games recorded on VHS tapes, often months later. Wayne Peace was the first QB I followed. I did not watch any other teams so I have no idea if the Gators were truly that good from 1982-1986 but those were my favorite teams not counting the championship teams. 2001 was a personal favorite during military deployments because the comms guys in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait always managed to get SEC games in the tents.

I think you need to enroll in school again so we can win some more national championships.

  10. The '92 Sugar Bowl loss to Notre Dame with Bettis still ticks me off.

One of spurriers stubborn moments. Still though, would have liked to have seen how the game would have played out if we didn't suffer key injuries to the defense in the 2nd half

For sheer joy, the great turnaround in 1973.
I'm 10 years old and UF has a 4 game losing streak capped by David Bowden throwing the ball out of bounds to stop the clock on 4th down in the game winning/tying drive vs Ole Miss. Boos raining down at Florida Field.
During the off week UF installs Don Gaffney and the option attack at QB. My first trip to Jordan Hare, where UF has NEVER won, Gators pull out a W 12-8. Next week to Jax, late TD and 2 point conversion (McGriff and Foldberg) beats UGA 11-10, the crowd goes wild. Back to Gville and a 20-18 win over Kentucky. Then head down to the Orange Bowl for my first time....beat Miami 14-7. And finally the FSU game has been moved to the finale (for the first time I think)....how about a 49-0 beatdown with Nat Moore shining.
That stretch remains as much fun and excitement as I can recall

2004 was a good one. Ended the year with letting Zook go and getting an obvious home run soon to be legend. Watching Zook (who seemed like a good guy) end the losing streak in Tally in his final game was pretty sweet

William Gaines was a force when healthy which was rare. That line could pressure the edge with Mickell and collapse the pocket with Culpepper and Gaines inside. Miss those days

I was in attendance for the Bowden 4th down OB pass. Still shake my head thinking about it. Lot of great D that year but not much offense.
