He ignored natural immunity. He ignored that schools should have been opened. He was tunnel visioned early and it fed him to a point of creating generational damage.
Sure, natural immunity is a thing, but it only goes so far, doesn’t last long, and certainly isn’t as effective as the vaccine, as multiple studies have shown time and again.
Fauci reversed himself on school closures once the science became evident. It was local county boards of education and states that continued to keep them closed and even some parents opted for remote or hybrid learning when given a choice. That’s the thing with science, it’s always changing and when dealing with a never before seen virus responsible for killing millions of Americans, Fauci made the right call early on to urge the closing of schools until they had more data to go off of.
