It's early and I usually avoid superlatives in November but this team is starting to make me tingle.

This year White has several players who can play the 2-3 defensively. So far this has enabled players to go hard because defensively there will be no fall off if a new layer comes in.

Having Felder and Duruji at power forward and Jitoboh to back up Castleton with positive minutes make us tough act to contend with.

Haha just seeing this now. Weller 12 year! I’ve actually been trying to cut back to be supportive of the wife not being able to drink for 9 months but I had to sneak a pour in after that win when she was asleep.

I agree with you. But it is way to early to judge how good our shooters are or will be. You can have great shooters who still have an off night. We will not go undefeated. And you’re right. We can’t start ragging on the team and coach when that happens . But they look like the kind of team that will scare the hell out of a lot of good teams even in a loss. It’s a pretty good sign when you shoot a little over 30% , miss 12 free throws and 7 lay ups against a quality team and still score 70.

Off shooting nights will kill any team. Having said that, check out these stats.

CAREER 3-PT % (including this season)
    Jones 37.9%
    McKissic 37.3%
    Appleby 36.4%
    Duruji 35.4%

FWIW, Noah Locke has a career 3-Pt mark at 39.9%.

The Defense is very good this year. I think our best ever was with Patric, Prather, Yeguete, Wilbekin and company before the Will Yeguete injury. That was one of the best college defenses I can remember.

That was such an amazing team. Truly a team. Billy D was such a great coach.

This year is looking to be a special one.

I could see us get into some trouble on the road with a ref or two that has a quick whistle.

We will most likely need to overcome lousy shooting nights and some nights where we get into foul trouble early.

But the defense and toughness can travel with us wherever we play.

    Love this team so far.

Losing Castleton to foul trouble would hurt. But I think we've got great depth at every other position and could afford 2 or 3 of those guys getting into foul trouble.

Not bad. 40% for me is the threshold for a great shooter. Yes, it would be nice to have 1 or 2 hit that arbitrary mark and get into the 40’s. But to have 4 different guys shooting 35+ is pretty good.
