I think we're 9th in the SEC (81st nationally) defensively per KenPom. We have a lot of room to improve, but it's not shocking that 3 of the faster teams in the SEC (tempo wise) have allowed more points than teams that play slower.
Exactly. Evan Miya has us 5th offensively and 7th defensively, owing to the second highest tempo rating.
And if the gap is large (offense scoring PPP minus defense scoring PPP) you want to play fast and have lot of possessions to maximize your edge. The worse it is (or negative) the more you suck the air out of the ball. First thing you learn in analytics school
FT% shooting has improved, 8th in the conference in SEC games; even more than that, though, we're dominating FT defense with only .703 allowed in conference play (only Ole Miss is doing better, they may take the SEC Championship in this category as they have an easier remaining schedule than we do). Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
Assuming the faster offensive pace doesn't lower the O's efficiency.....Analytics can get really deep (which I know you're aware of - just having convo)
You judge the free throw shooting by the home fans distractions on the shooters, not the percentage made. Did I get it right this time @GatorLurker ??? Oh wait...
