Yeah I send Collin a care package every now and then full of candy and snacks he can't get on ship. It takes a few weeks for them to get to him but he appreciates it.

Whew. My Dad flew F4s and every few years we’d be at a funeral for a pilot in the 70’s.

Am sure there will be a US 'Science Ship' out there soon to do some 'science' aka retrieving the F-35C.

Having worked on military bases in the past it is distressing to hear of a mishap like this. Best wishes for a full recovery for those who were injured and thankfully no fatalities. I'm sure their families stateside are worried sick.

Hope all is well and there are no casualties.

I was on CVN-71 - The Theodore Roosevelt or better known by her crew as the "Big Stick"

The flight deck crew is very well trained - I'm not surprised that there were no casualties. It looks like chaos sometimes but they all know exactly what they are doing.

Yeah I just read where this is the 5th major incident on the Carl Vinson in the last 2 months......Makes me wonder Collin was a little screw up when he was growing up, sure hope he isn't behind all these mishaps. LOL

This caught my interest because I thought it was about the F-35 I posted about in January. Pretty amazing they recovered the Jet from the Harry S Truman from almost 2 miles deep, then they mentioned the one lost off the Carl Vinson in January was recovered from almost 3 miles deep. Good job but damn it boys don't you think you can quit losing our jets overboard?
