    The F-35 that crashed was a Marine Corps version of the plane, which has a feature that the other versions don't have. It has an auto-eject feature that can launch the pilot out of the plane when certain things happen, whether the pilot wants out or not.

    The Marine Corps' version of F-35 has a unique feature that could have played a role in the South Carolina crash
