There was the San Bernardino shooting back in 2015. The attack triggered Trump's Muslim immigration ban although one of the perpetrators was an American citizen born in the US and the other perpetrator his wife was legally in the US under a K-1 (fiancée) visa.

Investigators believe the man who died had plans to attend a KISS concert in Canada, but when it was canceled, he went to a casino in the US instead.
