We can certainly hope. Although it’s not like UF’s boosters have shown they’re willing to play the NIL silly money game. Methinks we will quickly find out who the SEC Yankees are, and it ain’t UF.

 

Softball will have 15 teams (no Vandy). It will be interesting how they'll work that out.

 

I just want to double check what you are saying. So you are okay hearing the whistler every year over and over again for three days.

Starting in 2025, the baseball regular season would continue to include 30 conference games spread over 10 three-game series. Each school would play two permanent opponents in baseball and eight rotating opponents, meaning the number of teams a school doesn’t play each regular season would increase from three to five. Currently teams’ permanent opponents are from within their home division.

As is the plan for football starting with the 2024 season, the SEC will do away with East and West divisions in baseball and go to what is being called a single-division format.

Still to be determined is a format for the SEC baseball tournament. The current format includes 12 teams.

Rooting for a school that is situated between 2 insufferable fan bases? How about that for a start? Lol

 

Softball only plays 24 conference games, while baseball plays 30. I would hope the SEC would increase the number of softball games. If they stick with 24, that means teams will play 8 SEC opponents and not play 7 others. How can you accurately determine a true champion if teams only play 1 more than 1/2 the teams in the league?
